The acceptance scene is meant to show the resolution of the main character, by embodying both the negative and positive emotions of grief.
The choice to use the same location was made as I wanted there to be a form of a cyclical narrative structure, in which both the beginning and end of the film are both set in the present. This non- linear narrative, as mentioned before, clearly show the character's progression that they have taken from beginning to end.
The scene will show the character pulling out their sketchbook from a bag. This to act a small twist of the initial audience reaction to the beginning, where the audience, at first will see the character as a lonely and sad individual. But when the the film revisits the scene, the perception of the character changes, due to the character being shown as if he is there to draw more things.
This scene was shot at the same time as the introduction scene, as this saved time on revisiting the set and the lighting or weather could have changed if they were filmed separately.
I may choose to add a final shot into this scene, as I feel that the image of the over the shoulder shot of the character pulling out the book is not powerful enough and does not echo the overall message of there being both positive and negative sides to grief.
