After the feedback I received from the short film tutor at the college about keeping the script as simple as possible, I decided to go back and select lines out the script that were still necessary to tell the story, whilst editing out the lines that were either too long or contained to much information.
The design choice to reduce the level of voice over derived from both the feedback from the tutor and also from looking back at how there is very little dialogue in the scenes in Sergio Leone's films. This is because he chooses to communicate tone and narrative mainly through the visuals and sound.
A second draft of the script will be created from the annotations made here, from which, I can fit the cinematography and editing around the words.
